Childhood Adversity & Resiliency Services (CARS)

As of March 2024, the CARS clinic is not currently accepting new clients for services. Please feel free to reach out for local community referrals, to be put on our waitlist, or visit our community resources page.

CARS provides therapy services to children 8 – 17 who have been exposed to a traumatic event or are living in adverse conditions.  Services begin with a free screening/assessment. This is a short-term therapy (Trauma-Focused CBT) and support is also available for families in dealing with trauma related behaviors.

  • Call 217-333-0041 for more information or a free phone screening/assessment appointment.
  • Fees for services provided by our clinical/community PhD students (i.e., pre-licensed clinicians) are very affordable. We use a generous sliding scale ($0 to $30 per therapy session) that depends on family size and income. No one is turned away for inability to pay.
